RESPONSIBILITIES:
To be responsible for the regional sales targets, product diversification, expense controlled spending as well as market penetration through selected dealers, with specific emphasis on achieving the market growth. To share objectives and maintain pricing policies as laid out in the Regional Strategic Plan.To effectively and efficiently co-ordinate the Product Management Team and the Customer Service Team within the region to ensure that the customer base perceives Stryker as the leading product and service supplier within the industry.Overall, position our business favorably for growth and market share versus the evolutions in the health care industry and competitive trends in the local country. The success of this position is largely influenced by the incumbents’ ability to select, interact with and monitor effective dealers and maintain long-lasting, stimulating and trustworthy relationships with them.Ensure compliance standards are implemented in daily business and transmitted to Stryker’s distribution channels at every occasion.
Sales, Product Management & Customer Service:
To develop account-by-account strategies in order to ensure we are able to supply the highest level of service support to the customer base.
Set up an effective process in liaison with the Area Managers in order to monitor distributor’s performance closely on a regular basis, identify opportunities for improvement and if necessary be ready to select potential new distributors.
To undertake assessments of profitability on an account-by-account basis to identify and communicate the priority accounts in order to ensure adequate investments.
To maintain regular high level personal contact with the dealers and clinic teams as well as purchasing staff in established and potential centers in order to understand their specific needs and therefore develop value adding programs for the clinic which are differentiated to the competition and help customers do their jobs better.
To implement successful product introductions in the region as defined by the Global and Regional market strategy.
To plan and execute relevant training workshops, symposia, conferences etc for the region.• To assess the competitive threat to Stryker within the region and implement pro-active tactics in line with the strategic plan to counter the threats.
To regularly analyze the decision making process for Stryker products and determine actions required to ensure Stryker's activities and investments are adequate in each market segment to positively drive the "branded product referral" process.
To continuously assess all aspects of healthcare developments and national funding process, determine areas of influence for Stryker and take active steps to assist clinics to secure funding in a "branded reimbursement" method and expand the market
To foresee market changes and prepare Stryker and the respective distribution channels so that they are both prepared timely and appropriately for any change
Financial Management:
To develop the annual budgets and forecasts in conjunction with the Area Managers and ensure budgets and expense targets are adhered to accordingly
To monitor business performance against budget and to undertake corrective action where necessary
To provide continuous update on market trends and company’s performance
To provide forecasts as per the company’s internal projection planning
People Management:
To attract and retain quality employees with the best skills and qualifications to ensure that the Stryker standards and values are met and exceeded
To carry out performance appraisals with all direct reports and to ensure that both individual and organizational development and training needs are met
To set clear objectives for all direct reports in line with departmental and organizational goals and to manage and lead the team efficiently to optimize outcomes consistent with the companies code of conduct
Continued Professional Growth:
To develop relevant skills and knowledge by attending courses or make sure the needed knowledge is retained within the company
To update on legal changes and or requirement on an ongoing basis
To be aware of and to support continuously the development and implementation of the company quality system
WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
University degree in the Medical / Business-Economy / Engineering / Technical Field
Business Administration sectors (BA, MBA, Engineer, Technician, Nurse, etc.) is desired
Local mother tongue; plus very good written and oral mastery of English
Plus, ideally, professional development courses in sales or marketing or commercial
6-10 years of experience, within a Multinational Company in the medical / pharmaceutical field.
Thorough knowledge of sales/distribution processes and applied selling/commercial skills
Successful track record in sales through dealers
Preferably, already well familiar with the orthopedic industry and with the key decision makers
Product launches, re-orientation and other change management experience
